Hi, I’m Izzy Hostetler, and I’m from Eureka, Illinois. I’m 16 years old and have been riding for 11 years. I currently train with James Saubolle at Elite Show Horses and show my mare, Platinum Cowgirl—also known as Taya—in the 14–18 all-around events.

We’ve been fortunate to compete at major shows across the country, including the APHA World Show and the NSBA World Show, where we’ve earned titles in horsemanship, equitation, trail, showmanship, and western riding.

My love for horses drives everything I do. Riding has been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember, and competing in college has always been a goal of mine. I enjoy the challenge of constantly improving and the relationships that come with it—whether with my horse, my trainer, or my friends. Riding pushes me to grow, work hard, and stay grounded.

I attend Eureka High School and currently have a 3.988 unweighted GPA. I'm the president of the Illinois Junior Paint Horse Club and serve as a National Director for Illinois through the American Paint Horse Association. These roles have taught me a lot about leadership, fundraising, and giving back to the equestrian community.

When I’m not riding, I love spending time with my family and friends. They’re a huge part of my life, and I try to stay balanced between the arena and the people who support me.

Looking ahead, I’m considering majoring in business. I’d love to learn how to run my mom’s company so I can take it over someday, or even start a business of my own.

​

I’m excited to take the next step in my riding journey and hope to find a college team that feels like home—a place where I can continue to grow both in and out of the arena.
